The Bailies of Bennachie are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all volunteers. Current legislation also places responsibility on you, the volunteer, as well as the Bailies, to take all reasonable steps to make sure safe working practices are carried out. Please could you complete this form to ensure that your welfare needs are met. This information will be collected and processed to support your role as a volunteer and will be treated in compliance with our UK GDPR policies and processes.

Volunteers will generally get free parking while volunteering. We will only share your name and car registration with Forestry and Land Scotland in order to issue a car park pass. By giving your car registration, consent is given to Bailies of Bennachie to share this with FLS.
While volunteering, all attendees must provide an Emergency Contact Name with their contact details in case of emergency. Please write first and last name.

To enable us to ensure your welfare, would you please provide details below of any relevant and long term medication or physical conditions that would affect your volunteering, first aid or hospital treatment such as e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, strong pain relief, allergies, injuries, disabilities, etc., that a first aider or doctor should be aware of. Is there any work you may find difficult for health reasons, e.g. mobility or balance issues, relevant task limitations? (please describe below). Reply none if appropriate.
Previous Bailies work party experience, or useful skills, e.g. hill-walker, gardener, archaeologist, wildlife, etc.

The Bailies of Bennachie is committed to:

  • Being responsive to your requirements
  • Providing you with an induction
  • Providing support throughout your volunteer experience
  • Explaining the standards we expect and to encourage and support you to achieve and maintain them
  • Providing a Team Leader who will be your point of contact whilst volunteering on the day - outwith the event this will be the Owner Trustee
  • Doing our best to help you develop your volunteering role with us
  • Honouring your time commitment
  • Providing adequate training and ensure you know what to do to stay safe, in accordance with our
  • Health and Safety Policy
  • Providing insurance cover for volunteers whilst undertaking volunteering approved and authorised by us
  • Ensuring that all volunteers are treated fairly
  • Storing your information in compliance with our UK GDPR policy and processes
  • Trying to resolve fairly any issues you may have whilst you volunteer with us before they become problems. In the event of an unresolved problem, to offer an opportunity to discuss the issue with the relevant trustees
  • Follow up on any feedback or questions you may have regarding your involvement as a volunteer

I agree to volunteer with The Bailies of Bennachie and commit to the following:

  • Attend a Volunteer Induction prior to attending an activity
  • Perform my volunteering role to the best of my ability and with high regard to the safety of myself and those around me
  • Stop any activities that I or those around me deem unsafe and bring these to the attention of the Team Leader
  • Attend at volunteering activities with the appropriate clothing, footwear, food and beverages for the intended activities, terrain and weather conditions
  • Follow the organisation's Hand Book
  • Follow instructions given to me by Team Leaders
  • Ask if I am not sure what to do to stay safe
  • Return any loaded equipment when ending my volunteering
  • Report any incidents, injuries and near misses to the Team Leader / First Aider
  • Handle personal data in compliance with the Bailies UK GDPR policy and processes
I consent to photographs taken at Bailies Activities being used for Publicity. (However, if on an event I decide that I don't want my photo taken, I will let the Volunteer Leader or Photographer know.)
The personal data on this form will only be used by The Bailies of Bennachie and will not be available to any third party. I consent to the personal details supplied on this form being used by the Bailies of Bennachie.
