A Voice For The Hill
To mark our 50th anniversary, we adopted our new tag line that explains our role ‘A Voice for the Hill’. The starting point was - if the hill could speak, what would it say?
Over our 50 year history, the activities of the Bailies have adjusted to meet the needs of the day. As such we have a diverse range of skills, talents and successes which are constantly evolving.

Our anniversary was a great opportunity to look at and reflect on the underlying themes of the past and current activities of the Bailies, while adopting a clear message. 'A Voice for the Hill' sums up our role as advocates for Bennachie – providing a voice for the land, its history, its archaeology and its flora and fauna which can be mute in our hectic world.
The graphic below shows what the hill might say if it could talk – and the Bailies response. Some activities such as work parties and combating rubbish have been part of the Bailies since they were founded, and some others have come and gone. The exciting feature of this framework is that it offers trustees, volunteers and members alike to define for themselves how they want to give the hill a voice and propose new ways of thinking.
